Vietnamese Bridal Customs

Three significant ceremonies take place in a Vietnamese marriage on the same day. Le dam ngo, the couple’s family’s visit to the bride’s to publicly request for her hand in marriage, is the first ceremony. The two families exchange gifts and execute rituals to represent the individuals’ federation.

The following ceremony will be a tea and candle ceremony ( le te ). The honeymooners honor their ancestors by drinking tea and asking for blessings for their coming collectively during this time. They will also have the opportunity to make their second encounter with extended family members.

A parade moves to the bride’s home for a reception after the tea and light ceremony. The wedding does get a surprise field stuffed with jewelry from her mother-in-law at this formal introduction to her fresh home. In front of their ancient altars, the bride and groom’s parents will lose fragrant sticks and offer prayers to their ancestors for the couple’s good health, happiness, and fortune.

The bride and groom vietnamese lady don conventional Vietnamese attire, known as ao dai, which are available in a range of hues and designs. Their bridesmaids and bridesmaids will also be wearing ao dai dresses or a simpler edition of the same dress, depending on the child’s preference.
